2. Subject Indexes

• Is your topic in a particular subject area?

If so, use a subject index. Subject indexes specialize in a particular subject, and the articles indexed are generally from scholarly sources. Examples of subject indexes and the kinds of articles they identify are:

	Indexes articles in nursing and allied health fields, including research, nutrition, therapies, pathology, and consumer health
	In-depth material and reports about world cultures of over 200 countries and states. Maps, statistics, glossary, time lines, current issues, and more
	A comprehensive collection of U.S. and international journals specializing in law enforcement, corrections, family law, industrial security, drug enforcement, courtroom procedures, etc.
