About the Career
If you're ill or injured, it's comforting to know you're in the care of highly skilled, well-educated healthcare professionals. At the core of that healthcare team are registered nurses whose mission is to assess and care for the ill and injured as well as to maintain health and prevent illness of individuals across the life span. If you work well under pressure; like math, science, communications, and problem solving; are independent; and have a strong desire to work with and help people–success may be yours as a registered nurse.

CPR professional certification (one- and two-person, adult, child and infant AED) required prior to starting clinicals.
LPNs may be eligible for advanced standing in the program.

Physical Expectations
You’ll need to:
Talk, see, and hear.
Stand, twist and bend.
Lift up to 50 pounds up to 8 times per four- to eight-hour clinical.
Tolerate environments containing products made with latex.

Career Outlook
Job prospects in nursing are excellent and will grow faster than the average for all occupations well into the next decade. Due to technological advances and an aging population, employment in hospitals, home health care, nursing homes, specialty care areas, and outpatient facilities will continue to increase.

Potential Positions
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are prepared to write the NCLEX-RN exam and, upon passing that exam, may be employed as registered nurses at:
