About the Career
Children are our future. Nurturing and caring for
them takes place in homes, in schools, and in
various child care facilities. Parents and guardians
put their trust in qualified early childhood
educators to ensure the safety, well-being, and
healthy development of their children–our
future. If you love being with young children and
want to be a part of their positive growth and
development, a career in early childhood
education may be a rewarding choice for you.
Special Note
Completion of First-Aid/CPR is required for graduation.
Career Outlook
There continues to be a critical need for qualified child care professionals both locally and throughout the nation. In fact, the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics projects about a 20 percent growth in demand for child care workers. In addition, local child care facilities rely on LTC to train new employees as well as provide ongoing continuing education to their existing staff.
