CLEVELAND, WI –

Lakeshore Technical College, in collaboration with the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, is offering a Global Business Professional Certificate beginning in August. The one year program offers four courses in accelerated online and evening format and are designed to teach critical elements of international business such as marketing, supply chain, finance, economic development, culture, communications, strategy, sales, banking, and logistics.

Instructor Deb Ryan of LTC notes the value in this program for local businesses that are involved or want to become involved in global commerce. “The flexible class offerings and focused subject matter make this certificate appealing to anyone involved in world trade who wish to enhance their credentials,” says Ryan.

Wisconsin companies may be eligible to receive grant funding in order to participate in LTC's Global Business Certificate Program. The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation's (WEDC) Export Development Grant is designed to help Wisconsin companies become export-ready and to better assist them in developing the internal competence to enter and expand into global markets. “Conducting international business takes know-how”, says Brad Schneider, WEDC Export Development Manager. “This certificate is a great way to build your professional credentials, open doors to new opportunities, and operate and succeed in the global marketplace.”

The certificate is designed for anyone interested in gaining a competitive edge in today's global marketplace by learning new skills, techniques and insights for managing global business issues. Certificate completers will also have acquired the competencies covered in the national Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) exam, if they elect to pursue that credential.
