LTC offers motorcycle safety classes

CLEVELAND, WI

Registration is open for Lakeshore Technical College’s Spring/Fall 2008 Motorcycle Basic Rider courses, which will be held weekly June 2 through Oct. 26.

The class sessions meet either Mondays through Thursdays or Fridays through Sundays. The fee is $208.54 and includes the use of LTC motorcycles.

The course consists of six hours of classroom instruction and 10 hours of riding. Classes are held in the Public Safety Building and east parking lot at LTC’s Cleveland campus. Experienced instructors are trained and certified by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and approved by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

An instructional permit or temporary license is not required to take the course unless the individual is under age 18. An individual must be at least 16 years old to apply for a Motorcycle Instruction Permit through the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive the MV3575 Motorcycle In–traffic Skills Test Waiver Form, which may be taken to any DMV location to apply for a Class M driver’s license.
