| FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 04/23/08 CLEVELAND, WI– Lakeshore Technical College is offering a free digital television conversion class to the general public on May 12. “Analog to Digital Television: What you need to know” will introduce participants to the digital television conversion mandated by federal law in 2009. Participants will learn the difference between analog and digital televisions and will determine whether their televisions will be affected by the conversion. Participants will learn about the equipment needed to upgrade existing televisions to receive digital broadcasting. The provisions of the TV Converter Box Coupon Program offered through the Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration will be explained. The features and benefits to consider when purchasing a new television also will be discussed. The class will be offered May 12 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. simultaneously at LTC Community Outreach locations. Locations include LTC’s Cleveland campus, Kiel High School, Manitowoc County Job Center, Mishicot High School, Random Lake High School, Sheboygan County Job Center and Two Rivers High School. The class will be presented through LTC’s Interactive Television system at all locations except LTC Cleveland, where the class will be presented in person.
