| FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 04/24/08 CLEVELAND, WI– Lakeshore Technical College is offering a Painting/Environmental Protection Agency class for auto body repair and refinishing workers. The EPA has issued a new rule to reduce the emissions of hazardous air pollutants from auto body repair and refinishing paint operations. The requirements affect paint guns, gun washing, paint booths, booth filter systems and painter training. Participants in the eight-hour class will be introduced to the environmental compliance requirements. Training will include classroom and hands-on techniques. Participants will:
The class is targeted at companies with 40 or fewer employees and is sponsored by the Wisconsin Auto Collision Technicians Association Limited. Each participant needs to bring a respirator to class. LTC will retain a permanent record of participants’ compliance training. A variety of class dates and times are available in May and June, and a discounted class fee of $100 is being offered through June 30 due to grant funding.
