What is the date and time of the ceremony?
The ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2009.

How many guests can I bring to the ceremony?
There is no limit or restriction on the number of guests who can attend. However, each graduate will be receiving 4 tickets with their cap and gown to be given to their guests whom they wish to be seated in the gym. Viewing rooms will be available for all guests not able to sit in the gym. Graduates need to inform their guests to bring these tickets to the graduation ceremony on December 19 in order to be seated in the gym.

What happens if there is bad weather?
If the graduation ceremony is cancelled due to bad weather, the ceremony will be moved to Sunday, December 20, at 2 p.m.

How do I find out if the graduation ceremony is cancelled due to inclement weather?
The message on the campus answering service at 920-693-1825 will state the cancellation along with a posting on the LTC website at gotoltc.edu.

Who is the speaker for the ceremony?
The guest business speaker for this year is Don McAdams, director of Organizational Development and Learning with Johnsonville Sausage and also serving as the current president of the Lakeshore Technical College Foundation Board. Don has spent a large portion of his career serving in a variety of sales, marketing, and senior sales management roles in the consumer packed goods and meat industries; and he understands business and the important role continuous learning plays in successful careers. Larry Penke, Pharmacy Services Management graduate, will be the student speaker.

Can I park in the east lot (staff lot)?
Yes.

What special accommodations are available for disabilities?
Parking for guests with a handicap permit is provided in all lots. For further accommodations, contact LTC’s Student Records Office at 920-693-1888.

Can guests reserve seats?
There is no reserved seating. It is on a first-come, first-served basis.

How long will the ceremony last?
We anticipate the ceremony taking 1 hour.

Can I take pictures?
Yes, you can step forward and take pictures of your special graduates.

Is child care provided during the ceremony?
No.

Graduates

When and where is graduation practice?
Graduation practice will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 18, in the Gym.

Must I attend graduation practice?
We encourage all students to attend practice. This will allow for things to run smoothly on graduation day.

What do I wear?
Dress appropriately. The gowns are thin and see-through.

When should I arrive on the day of graduation?
Graduates need to begin checking in at 12:30 p.m. in Room L222 located on the second floor of the Lakeshore Building adjacent to the elevator.

When do I get my honor medallion or PTK stole?
These will be distributed at the time of check-in on graduation day.

When will I know if I am getting an honor medallion?
GPAs will be ready by the time of check-in and are figured on program grades only. A GPA of 3.400 or higher is required to receive honors. Instructors must have projected grades entered by 12 noon on Wednesday, December 16.

Where do I go after checking in?
Signs for each program by division will be placed on the walls around the upper level of the Lakeshore Building. You will need to find your program sign and line up alphabetically within your program. A student social with light refreshments will be held prior to the ceremony from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in Room L232.

Do I need to wear a cap and gown during the ceremony?
Yes, it is required. Contact Student Records if you have not yet ordered your gown through the LTC Bookstore. Tip:  To remove the wrinkles from your gown, spray it lightly with water and put in the dryer for 5 minutes.

When and where do I get my cap and gown?
Caps and gowns are available for pickup in the LTC Bookstore beginning Monday, December 7, 2009.

What side does my tassel go on?
It starts on the right and moves to the left after ceremony.

How do we march out after the ceremony?
Graduates will be marched out by the staff representatives. Guests will disburse on their own following the graduates.

Is Phi Theta Kappa selling flowers again?
Yes. Roses and carnations will be available on the day of graduation.

Do I need to return my cap and gown?
No, these are yours to keep as part of your student fees.

Do I receive my diploma on graduation day?
No. You will receive an empty diploma cover. Diplomas will be mailed by February 19, 2010. It will be mailed to the address we have on file for you. You will not receive your diploma if you have an outstanding balance or hold on your account.

Post Ceremony

Is there a reception following the ceremony?
Yes. There will be a reception in the Cafeteria following the ceremony. Light refreshments will be served.

Professional Photography

Who takes pictures during the ceremony?
Empire Photography is hired to take pictures for your graduation ceremony. They will be contacting you via e-mail with a proof approximately 4 weeks after the ceremony.  You are under no obligation to purchase.

Is the ceremony videotaped?
Yes. It is available in VHS or DVD format by ordering online at gotoltc.edu/gradvideo. The cost is $10 ($15 if being mailed).
