Welding Career Ladder brochure (pdf)
About the Career
Welding is the art of joining metal pieces together to form a strong
bond that results in a complete unit. Evidence of welders’ work is all around
us, everything from battleships, cars and piping to the amazing dome on the U.S.
Capitol building. If you like hands-on work, especially with metals, have solid
math and reading skills, are dedicated to accuracy and detail, and enjoy putting
things together to form useful products, welding may be the perfect career for
you.
Career Outlook
Opportunities will be best for those with formal training as technology is creating
more uses for welding in the workplace and expanding employment options.
